Healing of Your Loved Ones: Pray to Mary and 9 Saints
Let's pray for nine successive days to entrust Mary and nine saints with the health of our loved ones.
Over the course of this novena, you will be invited to pray to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Mary and the saints, and ask for their assistance as you or your loved ones are fighting an illness.
Why Pray for Healing?
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
[...] If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
- Matthew 7: 7-12.
The Saints of The Novena
Of course, during this novena you will pray to "the greatest of all saints": the Virgin Mary.
You will also pray to various saints who, in their lifetime:
- fought to preserve their souls from evil influences;
- experienced profound spiritual or physical suffering (at one point in their lives, or throughout their entire lives);
- taught us with grace the divine power of forgiveness;
- were very close with Jesus Christ, making them powerful intercessors to Him on your behalf.
These great saints, selected for this novena are: St. Padre Pio, St. Bernadette, St. John Paul II, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Leopold Mandić, St. Joseph, and St. Mary Magdalene.
Inspired by the following Psalm verse:
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
-Psalm 51:17
Overcoming an illness is a battle: do not forget to turn to the guardian angels for their help!
